  • COSEWIC Emergency Assessment of the Tri-colored Bat, Little Brown Myotis and Northern Myotis in Canada (February 2012)
    On October 3, 2011, COSEWIC received a request for emergency assessment for the Tri-colored Bat (Perimyotis subflavus), Little Brown Myotis (Myotis lucifugus), and Northern Myotis (Myotis septentrionalis) in Canada. Further details on these three wildlife species can be found on the Species at Risk Public Registry (www.sararegistry.gc.ca).

  • Caribou Designatable Unit Report
    At the November 2011 Wildlife Species Assessment Meeting, COSEWIC voted to adopt 12 designatable units (DUs) for Caribou (Rangifer tarandus) in Canada. COSEWIC will begin the process of assessing all DUs in 2012.

  • COSEWIC Decision - Eulachon Nass/Skeena Rivers Population
    At its November 2011 meeting, COSEWIC has decided, following receipt of new information and according to Section 24 of the Species at Risk Act, to undertake a reassessment of the Nass/Skeena Rivers population of Eulachon.
